NC Group Suspends Advocacy Campaign for [August 18, 2008] By Alex Philippidis The public-private consortium that has advanced the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in North Carolina, one of five states seeking to host the facility, retreated from the project earlier this month after local officials succumbed to opposition groups. The state, which “continues to evaluate its position,” can still be chosen by the overseeing agency, the US Department of Homeland Security, but its chances have been hurt.
